WELCOME TO THE VGDISTRO WEBSITE

The vgDistro website is a “one of a kind” tool developed for Video Buyers Group members that enables our retailers to fully participate in a multi-billion dollar segment of the games industry known as Value Video games.

This website is easy to use, offers access to a huge selection of titles of value priced video games and has lots of support to help in purchasing, utilizing credit cards for payment.

However the most important function of this website is that it’s a doorway to an opportunity that has been difficult, if not impossible, to become involved with until now.

You will receive a confirmation e-mail within 72 hours with instructions along with your password for access into the value video game website vgdisto.

RETAILERS CAN BE MINI-GAME STOPS IN THEIR MARKETS

GameStop recently reported record sales and profits for 2010 and is expecting lots more growth in 2011. The question is, why can’t video retailers become mini-game stops in their markets? The answer is THEY CAN and many of them are already doing quite well utilizing the buy-sell-trade business model. But the “value games” side of the business has been far more difficult to get into. Yet it is that side of the business that complements the buy-sell-trade business the most.

If you haven’t checked out a GameStop store in awhile, it might be time. As you walk through the store ask yourself, “Can I do this?” We can assure you that you can. As you leave the GameStop remember that they reported total gross sales for 2010 at a record $9.47 billion. Pretty impressive number! As you go back into your store ask yourself, “Why is it you’re not more involved in the video games business?” Mmmm, good question. Now is when the blockers start…“I don’t understand the business. I don’t know what to order, I can’t compete with mass market, etc.” These are the barriers that most retailers deal with, but they really can be overcome as many of our member retailers have shown. These barriers need to be looked at and investigated as to what it would really take to eliminate them. Write these barriers down and keep asking yourself questions until all the barriers are visually in front of you. Then begin developing a process of real investigation to see which barriers are the biggest stoppers. Some may take more investigating than others, but the bottom line is there are opportunities that can be very profitable in the video games business. Some of these opportunities, until now, were a bit more hidden to say the least, and much more difficult to become involved in. Because video retailers are so focused on the hit new movie releases, when looking at video games it is also the hits that is the major focus. But the video games business, although similar in many ways, is different. Did you notice that at GameStop it isn’t the hit titles that is getting the most attention and the floor space? It is also not where the real profits are made. It is, if anything, more of a convenience offering the hit titles.

What Video Buyers Group is now developing is a program that will offer VBG member retailers the opportunity to become (for lack of a better description) Mini Game Stops in their markets. They will have access to the value side of the video games industry via our new program, which is unique and far different than what you will find anywhere else in the business. All ordering information will be done on a website that is designed for this program and is an integral part of this effort. To get started or to view this site, all VBG members will need to go to our VBG website to get set up, get your password, etc. It is a simple process. No credit apps will be required as all transactions will be concluded utilizing your credit card on the video games website.

At Video Buyers Group we are looking at this new initiative as developing a business model inside of the existing business, just as we did with indoor tanning. We recommend our retailers view this in the same way.
